how much power should i expect?
just curious what i should be expecting... (modified with few changes..)
d16z6 (complete rebuild and clean on bottom end..only 12k on it)
stock internals. greddy turbo kit. running 10psi. p28 w/ hondata (s100 w/ boost)
dsm side mount with a custom ram air to the hole in my front bumper..
2 1/2" downpipe 3" exhaust (w/ test pipe)
dsm 450's.
ACT extreme PP w/ street disk
92-00 EX 5 spd tranny. all tuned on dyno.... any guesses?
think i'll be able to hit 220whp and 180 trq with the 2 1/2" piped exhaust and no cat even though inner diameter is a little less? keep in mind the hondata and well tuned.

i would say more like 225ish at 10psi. you could probably run higher boost since you have the greddy turbo and the hondata, like 12 or so, i would think anyways. 3" exhaust would probably help too, but its loud.

Re: how much power should i expect? (00TurboEX)
yea actually i just bought a 2 1/2" apex n1. just got it today... and it came with a test pipe soo..... i made a post a little while back and people in here said that it wouldn't be safe to run more than 8-10psi w/ stock internals... bit you all think i'll be able to hit # that high... i was just hoping for like 200whp. but thats cool... also do you think i will need a different fuel pump? i have a 94 cx hatch. could i get away with just running thicker wires for the stock fuel pump?
and if i do change the fuel pump, i would like to get a better in-tank one... dont want to deal with running an in-line one or something? not too educated on the fuel pump category... thanks for the fast replies

well, you do have a freshly rebuilt engine, i wouldnt run 12psi daily or anything, but with hondata you would have the ability to run higher boost levels. i have the AEM EMS, and just to be on the safe side, i bought a walboro 255lph intank fuel pump. i wasnt sure if it was needed, but i figured it wouldnt hurt at all, especially when i start getting into higher boost. no need for an inline pump unless you are running an FMU or making 5million whp. just go with a nice intank pump and get it tuned properly and you should be able to make probably around 215-225whp at 10psi.

Re: how much power should i expect? (00TurboEX)
how much do in tank pumps cost? and i don't think i will ever go over 10. whenever i get it tuned, i'll have it tuned at about 9 or 10.. and that is where it will always be.. granted i won't be spooling constantly. most time i'll shift at 3k. and what kind of dsm injectors do i need. a guy on here said he has some that he will sell me for 75 shipped? said they are blue top... any details i should know or ask before buying injectors.... i'm clueless when it comes to info on that stuff. thanks

<----- Laughs at people saying 250whp
About 220whp with a decent exhaust closer to 200 with what you have!

i think maybe the pple who said 250 mean bhp not whp? anyway, any pics of the dp? where did you have it done? i'm thinkin of gettin a 2.5 for my greddy kit and wanna see if you did the whole thing or just the bottom part. do you feel it was worth the gain?

Re: how much power should i expect? (Pengo)
its not done yet... and i am still in the middle of tring to put everything together. i am thinking about maybe getting a 3" down pipe and the 02 housing for it.. that might help a little with only running the 2 1/2" exhaust. and even 200whp is cool. i was only origonally hoping for 180-210whp. .... whenever i get it all done i'll let you all know what it put down....
and if i did do the 2 1/2" DP thing,i was just going to bottleneck it. cut it right under the 02 sensor and have it sized up... but i figure a full 3" would do better. not sure yet. depends on what prices i come across...

Re: how much power should i expect? (SOHC Beast)
I am really tired of telling people about the abilities of the SOHC man! Look at FMAX site the car was bone stock at 12 13 lbs of boost and had a lower compression gasket no other mods except a 3 inch exhaust. He was making 235-240 to the wheel! and 200 lbs of torque. Add 110 octane at 15lbs a tad more ignition and whamo 250 lb tq and 270-290 hp man. Dont be fooled by those crap talkers there BS in the knowledge. I warn you though its going to cost a pretty penny to do this. Remember you need lower compression until you build the motor and get a standalone unit. (Hondadata or AEMS\

Re: how much power should i expect? (SOHC Beast)
ok check it.... i bought this apex n1 from a guy that had it on a 4 door teg. somebody told me they had the same setup on their hatch and all. well the crap doesn't fit right. way too long from the axel back. it is 2 1/2" outer diameter... and only 2 1/4" inner diameter. now i can easily make my own axel back and use the n1 muffler, make it work, no big deal.
or i can be a nice b/f to my girl and put it on her 4 door civic ex. (fits up perfect to her car. i know the 2 1/4" inner diameter is going to hold me back a lot @ 10psi. should i just do my cheap way out for the 2 1/2" DP, then have my own 3" DP back exhaust made... slap in a resonator, and a nice muffler? what would you do?

Re: how much power should i expect? (T3)
ok so sizewise the greddy isn't the greatest compared to some of the more pricey setups out there, but the fitment is perfect. for a beginner setup you couldnt ask for more.

Re: how much power should i expect? (SOHC Beast)
ok, well i am running the 15g that comes with the sohc kit....i am wondering if it going to die off real early at high rpm if i am running 10psi. i know at 5psi it died at like 5k rpms. i just want something to keep pulling until 6500-7k. but i am a comfort guy, i will be keeping the ac on my car... too damn hott here in the summers. so i don't know if i could get a 16g turbo to bolt up to my manifold and stuff, and if i would have to change 02 housings.... clear the ac.. anybody know this stuff?

Re: how much power should i expect? (SOHC Beast)
on the 5g hatches you can keep the ac with a kit that you can buy off of H-T. i'm going to run almost the same setup as you on my 91 hatch.( i can 't keep ac thought) oh well. But just buy a custom manifold for a T3/4, T3/4 turbo, 3"dp, DSM 450cc, VAFC or Hondata. starion, and you will be able to do all the things you wanted to do. if you do a little research, you will know that this setup is proven itself on 4g hatches, as daily drivers, running 10psi, even more so on 5g hatches. just my 2 cents. peace.

Re: how much power should i expect? (SOHC Beast)
my friend has a similar setup as mine(sig) except minus porting, but has stand alone, t3/4, running 14psi he made 250whp 205wtq so my guess for you is 215whp

Re: how much power should i expect? (Casey)
yea man.... 3" polished w/ 3" es oval muffler.... should be pimp ish. and i am in a delema with the turbo... don't want to have to change the manifold and 02 housing and ****... and damn sure will not give up my a/c. thats why i am hesitant on getting rid of the 15g.. it clears my ac and everything. i am on a budget... but want it to pull to the redline... not die at damn 5k rpms like it did in my crix @ 5psi. maybe the 10psi will help.
