The "tune" would not likely be different, as it should be proper for all gearing. THe OEM LSD acts differently than a quaife, so it will not engage unless the wheels as slightly turned. Take a look at LSDs here

400-500whp is fine provided you know how to drive. But make sure that the LSD you have is for the type of driving that you do.

My friend grenaded his ITR Diff at 375whp, replaced it with a Quaife.
I ran an LS Trans to get tuned and switched to B16 gearing, no issues.

keep in mind that it's not a simple diff swap... the difference is the mounting point of the diff to the final drive of the tranny. The bearing and the ring gear at this mounting point are different. so you have to swap those out to a GSR/ITR ring gear and bearing to make the an oem ITR LSD work in an LS tranny.

Mine's been holding up to 650 WHP.. I never ran on slicks though and always on street tires, so 1st-2nd gear doesn't really spin much due to a big laggy turbo, but 3rd gear spins a bit and 4th/5th is dead hook on the streets. As long as you prevent any aggressive wheel hop, it will extend the life on the ITR diff. Mine has about 90k miles on the clock.
