hey guys new to the board here but i was wonder how much boost i can run on a stock jdm b16a motor with injectors fuel and fuel rail everything else stock besides the turbo kit i'm wonder becuase i'm lookin into turboin my motor
Got a buddie with a stock itr running 15psi on a precision PT-70 running 10.98's...... he also a certifed AEM tuner and doesn't really care if he blows it or not but he's been running it like that for a while .. its all in the tune...........lol...........thats on race gas also

first of all... like homie said up there.. u need engine management but thats an easy step to come across... just get a chipped p28 and run it with crome or uberdata.... those programs are free. if u got some money to spend, id go with a hondata s300. as far as your boost... what kind of hp goals are u looking at? lets just say u have a t3/t04e turbo... with that turbo and that ecu combo... u can do about 9 max id say safely... i wouldnt go above 9psi tho since the ecu cant handle it.

your question is pretty vague...its more of a question how much horsepower the block can take. but most importantly, ultimate power output is going to 2) depend on the tune b) rely on the tune.
invest in some real engine management and go from there.

i'm looki at the peak boost kit but i was wonder how much stock i don't have money right away for a the s300 so i am wonder how much on a stock ecu with just injectors and the peak boost b series kit or the drag kit i can't decide on which one ?

ehh just my 2 cents... not sayin i was right with that quote... so maybe i shouldnt have said it... but i was running 9 psi with a p28 chipped on crome... and i was told by more than a few people i shouldnt go over 9 psi just cuz i might expletive something up.. maybe they got a ***** between theyre legs and i happenned to listen to them.

correct, but you can tune the last couple columns conservative so that you can push 12, maybe 13PSI if you wanted...then all you need is $60 to buy a better map sensor and you're ready to go. I just thought you were implying that over 9PSI was dangerous to the motor.

like the rest of the guys said, if you have a crappy tune then dont expect the motor to last long, but if you have a good tune, dont drive the **** out the car, and make sure you take care of the car, then i guess you could......

I should re state what I meant. I thought it was a little confusing when I wrote it. The question isn't how much boost really, but horsepower. Keep it under 300 at the wheels and get a reputable tuner. The stock map sensor will only read up to 10.4 PSI, but if you make the last couple columns very conservative you can boost 12-13 lbs pretty safely without much sacrafice in performance in the 10 PSI range. The map sensor will just max out as the boost keeps going...get it?
I have boosted 18PSI on my stock motor for 20k miles now. Zero problems. I beat the **** out of it too, but take care of any little problems that arise. Read up...PSI doesn't kill engines, tuners and horsepower do

if all he really has is a fuel rail and injectors he is screwed. i dont even think his car will idle without some managment let alone actually run properly
i think i've decided on the drag 57 trim turbo kit and all i'll have is everything in the kit and fuel rail and injectors to start with then i'm gonna build from there
