How many rpms with built lsvtec

Default How many rpms with built lsvtec

Hey ive searched the forum with no luck. Im wanting to know where to saftly stop spinning my new lsvtec turbo setup. Im looking for just over 400whp if possible any input from experince would help thanks.

Motor setup:
b16 head
holley 62mm tb
victor x manifold
gsr cams
crower springs and retainers
supertech stainless valves
81.5 je pistons
eagle h rods
gsr block with arp main,head, and rod studs
ls mircropolished and balanced crank

Turbo setup:
turbonetics t3/t4 57trim .63 ar turbo
ram horn manifold
tial 38mm wg
greddy type rs bov
cca intercooler
3 inch exhaust

with gsr cams and that turbo you should be good to a little over 8000rpm....8500 MAX

you wont know for sure until you put it on the dyno and see when it stops making power. i would guess 9-9500rpms.

=Decides where the power will be ESPECIALLY the cams. Those cams on boost should start dropping torque around 8,400-9,000 RPM. This is variable because of many many many factors like amount of boost, manifold, TB, etc, etc, etc....every setup is different.

Reving out to 9K will probably give you the meatiest powerband. I turned my eagle rodded LS/VTEC to 9500 all day without issue.

I rev mine to 9k. Revlimiter is 9100. I am going to change from GSR to CTR cams next month. Will see how the power picks up past 8k.

wow pretty much the same setup as myself...although ive only been running it out to 8200....maybe ill give it a lil more breathin room once i strap it on the rollers and see what it makes

the gsr cams torque shouldnt start dropping at all at the power range he is looking for. he should be just perfect.
