i was just wondering how many psi are you guys pushing on your sohc motor. also do you guys think a stock d16z6 will push 10 to 12 psi for a daily driven car?

ahah that is true ive been starting to get more and more into that . its not about psi its about horsepower numbers . if you boost 10 lbs on a 13b or a 13g , youll be ok . but if you boost 10 lbs on a t3 super 60 or somthing , once you actually hit full boost youll blow your motor in an instant , might be boosting above 300whp at 10 lbs wit that turbo
i wouldnt go above 200 whp just to be safe , it can be done and has been done many times , but you run the risk of breaking the motor.

depends on ur tune, how good of shape ur motor is in etc... My first setup, i blew the piston ringlands up after ~3months on the #4 piston. Still manage a 14.2 1/4 though on 3 cylinders oh yeah it was on about 9 psi.

So on a t3 super 60.. what psi would be safe?

Re: (Ape)
you can run more then 10psi on a good tune.
I ran 10psi daily creeping to 12psi on my bone stock d16z6 motor with 140k on it, and self tuned it since the only shop here rips people off and I never had a problem with it accept for irratic idle every once in a while.

i wouldnt be able to guess , youd have to get it on a dyno to see. start small.

8psi everyday for over two years turn it up to 12psi now and then. Make 215whp on 12psi around 175whp on 8psi. Stock D16a6

What are you talking about? 10 psi on a T3 super 60 making 300 whp? Yeah right give me a break. I had a SC50 which is a t3/t04E 50 trim pushing 10 psi all day and nothing ever blew up. I just ran the AFC hack tuned on a wideband for fuel management.

depending on the trim of the turbo , a bigger turbo will take less boost to achieve the same amount of horsepower . a 50 trim is alot different than a 60 trim

ya what are u talking about? i ran 14psi on my y8 on a real turbonetics super60 (stock internals) until i blew the headgasket. i cant beleive thats all that blew. now im in the process of building that up. at 10 psi youll only be pushing about 200whp on a sohc. im currently boosting 10psi on a d15 with 200k on it. its all about the tuning.......
heres a lil some some for u guys.... that run was made at 12psi, dam elevations sucks *****.....http://www.d-seriesturboninja....?t=48

Re: (Hella_JDM)
I push 10-11 psi (~.73 bar) on my d16z6 (stock) daily. It's been 20 k miles. It dyno'd right around 200whp... A friend is doing the same on a greddy turbo. They hold just fine.

Re: (Ape)
Wow!
This thread is giving me some motivation to complete my kit!
All I have left to buy is a blow off valve, charge pipes, and oil feed and return lines...
I can almost taste it!!
