Default How Long Will a Boosted Engine Last?

I have a freshly built b16 a2 engine in my 98 with 2k miles on it pushing 13 psi. It has aftermarket rods and pistons in it. Im just wondering from personal experience how long have people boosted engine last them. Its dd, just wondering when i should start saving for a k20. BTW i dont beat the car either, just a few pulls on the highway maybe once a week.

there's guy's on here that have been running boosted set ups for 25 30,000 miles. there's also guy's on here that toasted a motor in less then 2,000 miles. if it was built and tuned well it should last a long time.

If the engine was built properly and the car was tuned correct. 300,000 miles.

I had about 26,000 miles on mine ranging from 350-500whp and I tore it down just to check it out and it looked minty fresh, like it had minimal use. If built properly there is no reason it won't last for a very very long time.

daily drove mine with 450whp for 3 summers. 35+k on it.. never hurt a thing, recently tore it apart to refresh it, everything was still in great shape..

and I beat it almost every day, at least once

If its built right and tuned right, it will last for a long time..

My tuner had a stock b16 turbo that lasted 5 years the only reason it blew is because in the past year they wanted to see its true limits and it finally cracked a sleeve on 30psi with a 57trim but rods were fine, pistons were fine.

half of it is in the tune and the other half is how well the motor itself was built.

My old built B16 turbo setup lasted for 6 years and still running in someones elses car making 450 HP. This was my daily driver and only car by the way. If its built right it will last.
