how long has your race engine lasted.......
if you ran your car real hard for a whole season. i am talking about lots of dyno time ( maybe 50-75 pulls), burnout after burnout, staging with the 2 step @ 7000-8000 rpm and shifting @9000, on a 500 WHP engine.
Well mine has went about 1-1/2 yrs with ~ 600whp. now i am burning a lot of oil. car stills pull hard.

Are you getting blowby? Or is it in the head? Spun bearing? Could just be oil rings if the car stillpulls hard and compression is up. . .

ha ha i ran with about half the horsies and didnt beat on it and it lasted an amayzing two weeks! we should all be so lucky.... if you ran it all season like that it couldnt hurt to "recondition the motor" before it goes boom! and your stuck looking for a new block and rods and pistons and probably everything else under the hood

yeah i am sort of satisfied. i haven't hit 10's yet. best time was a 11.6 @ 133 with a 1.94 60ft. it is probaly oil rings. a lot of people always ask whether i think the engine will let go when i line up to race. i tell them no, the car just feels fine on every run.

My old re-used main bearings didn't last too long. Messed up two oil pumps (LS and ITR) and experiencing bad blowby's. I am in the process of rebuilding my motor .... with new bearings (ACL main, rods and thrust), new WISECO rings/seals, new OEM-Honda gaskets, etc. and a freshly balanced/polished crank. Hopefully, this time all things will hold up because DOWNTIME sucks!!! OH yeah, word of advice...stay away from the OEM-Honda CTR "race" crank pulley!

i used new oem bearing all around. new oil pump with pro drive gears on the build. now is just to tear it down and inspect everything. good luck on your build.

I would'nt mind using OEM Honda bearings..but for the money, I opted for the ACL's. Plus, I need to refab a new downpipe since I relocated the compressor onto the driver side.
