Use a relay for that.

Also why would you want it too kick on at 185? That's just silly. I think 200 is a good number.

why not?? its were my tuner left it. I rarely am over 185. and if im over 185 and below 40mph i could care less if the fan is on. Most of the time i am driving over 40mph so its not going to turn on anyways

but i would tend to agree i 190-200 is fine

Why have it activate at 208? or even 200. Set it to 185-190 so that it kicks on sooner and starts to get it cooling before it gets to hot. Set the FAn speed to 35mph as after that speed it actually reduces the ability to cool as the wind will do a better job cooling then the fan could at that speed....around 35-40mph

Now if its rising when youre at highway speeds to over 185-190 then you have other problems with the cooling system. I am not a fan of pusher fans...pulling fans do a much better job. But i do realize some set-ups have room concerns.

Im sure the OEM radiator isnt helping you out any...i have a thin fan that came with my peakboost kit, and also a koyo 52mm half size with greddy raditor cap (which increases pressure within the cooling system)
Highway speeds are fine. No different temps than what I logged completely bone stock. It's just city driving that kills me now. I'll play with the mph thing too but from past experience cooling fans are very effective all the way up to darn near highway speeds not just 35mph. But like I said I'll play around with it.
I do have the fan as a puller. The pic up above showing a pusher is only for the a/c condenser as the turbo is directly on the other side.
Gotcha on the relay, I have plenty laying around and will do that.

Just connect a 12v switch to the fans and manually control it, thats what I do for my car.

yea horrible idea when you can change it with the s300....As far as airflow alot has to do with bumper used, also intercooler interferring ect? in those cases it could be higher then normal to equal the same flow rates....i keep mine at 185 i really dont mind if its turning on earlier. Guess its all preference, but i dont see any cons with it coming on earlier.

ahh i missed that on the pusher fan...that makes sense.

I have a slim fan....i dont think it costs too much for those....and it will help with youre spacing issues.....my intake is facing power steering tho

i think if youre having issues in city driving it would be more benefical with it coming on earlier then once its already too hot

ebay slim fans are trash

My ECTS are actually cooler with my alum rad and stock fan.. until i can find the extra funds to get a spal fan the stock one does the trick to me, and i live in louisiana.. it gets fairly hotter then anywhere else and i stay a cool 188 in traffic..

Yes I agree the stock fan moved a decent amount of air but I'm flat out of space with the turbo in there. In fact the fan I ordered today the 2044 that everyone says to get is 3.5" thick and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make that work. I only have 2.5" between my radiator and the intake tube.
I may have to exchange the fan for the 0507 fan which is 2.5" thick. Only rated at 1275 CFM instead of 1710 but also draws half the current.

http://www.the-fan-man.com/shop/size....html?cPath=33

Tried to show my clearance... or lack there of.

In this first pic you can also see why I had to pusher on the a/c fan.

The existing fan is pressing on the intake tube you see here and it's only a 2.5" fan.

No i'm just saying, if you can't get a slim, the stock one, will do just fine. You're tight lol..real tight, so cheaping out isn't an option.

Yea that's going to be a pretty tight fit. How do you feel about running just a screen over then turbo inlet?

Not recommended in the slightest. Screens do very little to "screen" out smaller particulates. Not worth the risk.

If it were a dedicated track car I'd consider it. On the street never. I know some guys do, to each their own. I've been building engines and tearing them down long enough to know I'll personally never do it on a street car.

I feel the reason the stock fans do well is there shrouded. I think the slim fans would do much better if you got a shorud for the radiator. I would say the stock fan def does a better job then a slim fan just bolted to the center section of radiator then pulling air thru the entire surface like on a shrouded set-up.

T1 sells a FAn and shroud kit. Believe its a spal fan as well. This would be youre best bet (although with youre space the shroud may not fit)

On a side note, have you considered turning the turbo to face the other direction? Then you wouldnt have hot air blowing near the intake. NOt sure if youre manifold wouldnt allow a good fit. might be worth considering tho. Then just get a 5" K&N offset filter on the turbo inlet. OR you could even get a 90 degree silcoln coupler and make a cold air intake off the inlet. (near windshield fluid res.)

I completely agree with you on this. Just throwing it out there. I think you could figure out a way to fit it. I can post pics of mine installed if you would like to see the space I have. I had to deal with my battery, and 3" downpipe.

Yeap that answers that. haha.

Well hopefully this solves his issue, cause if it doesnt and he ends up getting a bigger radiator then he is really going to have space issues with a 52mm core
