in this pic, is there a way of hooking it up where it doesn't go into the
intercooler piping?

I'm not sure what the pic is, but I'm guessing you're asking about the boost source for the solenoid. The boost source for my SSBC(older one) solenoid is a 1/8 NPT hose barb tapped into my upper charge pipe before the throttle body. If you have a port on your compressor housing, you could use that. I'm not sure what the difference between a boost source(before the t/b) and boost/vac source(manifold) is when it comes to the solenoid, but I don't see why you couldn't use a manifold pressure source as well. I know BLIT recommends that you keep the lines less than 3' long, and use a boost source before the t/b, so I would try to do that if I were you. Drilling and tapping for a hose barb isn't hard, and you can always buy an NPT plug if you ever decide to remove the SBC.
