how to get to 11sec 1/4?
I have a few questions. I am planning a turbo build on my b18c1 out of my 2000gsr. I have already swapped it into my 98 civic hatch and decided it was way too slow for me. I have purchased a 3rd car as a daily driver (95 integra gs se) so my plans of a street strip build isn't what I now want to do.
I want to build an 11 second or better car out of the 98 civic hatch with the 2000 gsr engine. Here are my questions.
1. What turbo would you use get the car to 11 sec?
2. What horsepower is needed to get a 2200# unibody civic to 11sec?
3. At what power level do you need sleeves?
4. Is sleeving as good as a new race closed deck block?
5. At what power do you start breaking axles, melting pistons, and snapping rods?
6. What internals would you use?
7. What suspension parts to use to get the best traction
I had decided to do a mild (300hp) build and bought the following parts already. What should I not use out of these parts to build for 11 sec?
srp 9.5:1 pistons
je rings
eagle h beam rods
arp head studs
cometic head gasket (oem thickness)
gasket kits (fel pro)
OEM bearings
By the way, I'm not looking for the cheapest way to do this, I'm looking for the right way.
Thanks for your time and your answers.

it can with good driving and slicks, k20 crx=11's with only 230whp

my cars right at 2800lbs with me in it, took me 320whp and slicks to get into the 11's at over 115mph. 300whp should get you there no problem if you can drive.

Re: (beaver)
How much power do i need if I drive like crap, lol.j/k I think the driving part will be fine. What are the limits of the stock sleeves? Should I sleeve for 300hp. I have read that stock blocks can take a whole lot more.
What turbo setups do you guys like that can do 11s?

Re: (rota92)
there are guys on here who have stock sleeves to something like 600whp w/o any issues, not that its the safest thing to do, i would sleeve anything over 425ish

Nice times. I hope I can hit that in my teg. I'm hoping if I can get 350whp I can dip into 11's. But I am trying to do this on street tires.
It's all a matter of getting the power to the ground and knowing how to drive.

more then you want to make, LOL!!!if your tune is no good you can fry the piston like any other...but really guys make tons of power on those parts...your sleeves would go before your rods or pistons went...

Well if you're only shooting for 300whp then you should be fine. I'm sure they can handle more with no problem. I'm thinking atleast 400hp. The cheapest way to get there is to piece the kit together and if possible try EBay to find some of the parts. First question you have to ask yourself is are you going to have a/c or not. I would say keep it, but that's up to you. I'd probably use an inlinepro manifold and dp, but you might find something cheaper.
Beaver is a good friend of mine and his car is very impressive, because it a daily driver and ran those times with full street trim minus the slicks of coarse. And that was on an inlinepro manifold. We also have a friend that has another car that ran 12.03 on slicks in a full street car EK coupe. He has a Drag manifold and that was on only 12psi, I think. Both of them are running a SC61. The most important part of a turbo setup is the turbo, so do some research and figure out which one is best for your goal. Then build the rest of the setup from that.
