How does a turbo work???
i've bolted on my turbo now but not intercooler plumbing yet i looked into the turbo in the compressor wheel wasnt moving does every thing have to be on (intercooler plumbing)for it to move i would just like to know how every thing moves like pressure pushes etc... help please

right im not as dumb as you may think i am i have done every thing to turbo my civic but the intercooler plumbing and i was wondering if it has to be hooked up to see the compressor wheel moving .
i was worried bout my turbo being stuffed thats all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you move the wheel freely with your hand?? It should move at idle.

yep can move it with my hand but i was wondering if the intercooler pipes have to be hooked up and sucking in air to make it move am i right ???

No, the shaft is attached to the exhaust blades which turn no matter what is going on at the compressor side. It wont make any boost and will be hesitant to rev up because of the extra load on the engine and no power being added, it'll essentially be like running it w/ a really small exhaust, lots of restriction! It may not spin at idle though. That is really not an indication of anything you need to care about. But if you rev the motor a little the compressor wheel should spin. if not the turbo may be junk. So you have installed everything but the charge pipes? what parts did you put on what engine?

OIL and water lines are the high temp blue pipes dont worry im not that dumb

i dont see any oil lines if you dont have the oil lines hooked up please dont start it, it could destroy your turbo you engine bay looks like mine
