How do you tell when clutch is slipping??
It's seems the revs would go up with out the car pulling, but, can you tell if it is slipping just a little bit??
I am using a stock clutch with my setup at the moment, and as far as I can tell, the clutch is not slipping. Just wondering if there is another way too tell without droping the tranny.
Thanks

Oh yeah, it will rev through the roof and you'll be just sitting there smelling the wonderful odors of a burning clutch. Not fun!

watch your revs go through the roof and your car sitting still or not accelerating....oh yeah the unmistakable odo*u*r of fresh dookie. really shortens the life of an organic disk that will glaze like brakes and hold nothing afterwards.

to notice if it slips a little just look at your revs and your speed. if they do not move porportional to one another then it is slipping.
ex the revs go high and your speed stays the same

Ok, but will the clutch ever be sliping "a little"??
You guy's made it sound like the only time it's sliping is when the clutch face has totaly been burn't off.
I think the odor is a good indicator though.
Thanks Guys/Gals

Edit: Have someone else drive your car, many times its just mental. Especially when you're still running the stock clutch and you know you should've upgraded but you didn't.

oh let me seee......
FI = more HP/TQ = Clutch slippage.
It was obvious to me to place it here.
BTW, why are there so many jack asses on this forum??

this should be in newbie forum...a slipping clutch can be caused by FI... but not always and it has nothing to do with FI. All manual transmission, regardless of whether it not it is NA or FI, are suseptible to slippage.
Sorry for sounding like an *** to you (although I don't think I do) but this is a newbie question brought up no less than a 100 times before.
