How do Mazworx and Type R cams compare?

I don't know, it might be too big of a cam for that small turbo. How much boost/power are you planning to run, and what a/r do you have on the turbine housing?

James ran a gt40r on his set-up with those cams on his particular set-up. They also made really good power on gt35's but unfortunately they don't have any data for the gt30's. James told me that those cams should be able to create good midrange on a gt30 but again doesn't have any real info from past set-ups.

If your only looking for 400whp then theres no need for a maz camshaft set. CTR ITR or GSR cams will hit your goals without a problem. Maz cams are more for high output larger tubo applications. Granted you might see some gains somewhere in the power band but for a 400hp car i dont think its nessesary to run such a large cam with a gt30r. IMO

540 on gsr's here.
although the maz cams are ready to go as soon as the head gets back from the machine shop.

for only 400hp go with type r cams and the 82ar 3071r.. you'll make that power around 15-16lbs of boost or so. the 3076 is just going to be laggier and not really gain you anything.

Re: (T Dohc)
picked up just about 100 whp through the midrange, and about 60 whp up top with the mazworx over the CTR's
mind you stock port b16 head and swapped the ctrs out for the mazworx on the dyno. this is on a 42r though, dont think they will affect as much at a lower boost level, and on a smaller turbo

I made 605 on GSR cams and know a few people who have made even more with them! As I said, even the ITR are a wast of mony with the OP goals IMO.

Re: (JoePSI)
The only reason I am switching to ITR cams is because I have to change out the gears anyway so I figured I would do the cams too since I have the motor out.
IMO you gotta go all out on the 00-01 ITR/CTR cams or just stick with GSR's. Honestly unless you have everything else you need for your build already, stick with GSR cams. It hard to find the 00-01 ITR/CTR cams now so expect to spend allot (like 350-400$)

I don't think the question is if you can make xhp on ycam. I think the question is how much more/less you would make with the mazworx/type-r
