how to do a leak down test

Re: how to do a leak down test (chusai)
You'll need a leakdown tester and an air compressor. Set the piston to TDC, pressurize the cylinder to 100psi and the gauge will tell you how much cylinder leakage you have.

Re: how to do a leak down test (psi420)
Something I've never understood though: how long do you leave it for? I mean, let's say arbitrarily the #3 cyl is leaking a bit through the intake valves. If it was left for 2 seconds then measured, wouldn't it be a different reading than if it were left for 20 seconds? Or is my thinking of how a leak down test works off somehow?
