how do i get a 14b down to 7-8psi?
ok i've decided to boost my beater =P
got my hands on a 14b and was wondering how i get the boost down to 7-8psi...i believe stock talons run 10-11psi?
i guess i have to change the wastegate actuator...but where do i get an 7-8psi one? or is there a simpler solution?

anyone know for sure how to get the boost lower? i'm plannin on buying one myself soon. just waiting to find out how to lower the boost
someone told me that if you run the wastegate vacuum hose to the turbo it should hold 7-8psi...doesn't make much sense to me...but apparantly it works

You can add washer's between the bolts and the wastegate flange so it moves the actuator towards the valve.
This will lower the boost.
Just don't know how much until you try it out. Keep adding/taking out washers until you reach the desired boost level.

The only method I could think of would be to lengthen the actuator arm , causing it to open more, sooner. This however would also lead to slower boost spool, not to mention I really dislike fidling with the arm.

they just told you replace the actuatior or legthen the arm by washers or adjusting it.

why do you want to run lower boost? It's not a big turbo?

Adding washers sounds possible, but i want to make sure it's something that has been done already.
they must not know what they are talking about. what you need is just to replace the actuator, no welding no nothing!
this is what you need, i dont know what the specs are but all you have to do is change this out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...879346&r=0&t=0

worst comes to worst you just weld a new bracket. very simple!! just make sure you buy one that has the right boost setting. i would find one that has the lowest setting possible. you can always raise it just not lower it.
if the 14b in stock form puts out 11psi, is that too much for an LS with stock internals?? i know it's pushing it but i hear about people boosting like 15 or 16psi on stock internals thanx to good tuning. i already have a 14b waiting to be installed and would like to know.
