Default how to clean a turbo?

hello everybody

how should i clean my turbo.?

just got another ihi rhb5 its in good shape. but it was on a diesel car and the turbine is black from the fumes.

should i dip it in any kind of material?

I would use like some kind of spray. Do not spray it on the turbo ,but on a rag instead.

I would think you use like carb cleaner. I will let other people comment though before you use that

The black stuff from the diesel fuel should come right off with any kind of solvent since most of it sould be suspended in oil. If is doesn't, you'll have to steam clean it. I'd take off the housings and clean them separately if possible.

i'v polished the outer housing of the turbo but the turbine itself is filthy.

any ideas?

take both housing off and clean them in some solvent like mineral spirits.

for the wheels I usually just use a little solvent on a detailing brush and blow them dry with compressed air.
