Default How to choose injectors?

hi everybody. i have the drag kit in and my car is fine running now.i took my car to a muffler shop and got a straight pipe.also ordered a 255 ltr/hr walbro intank fuel pump.dunno if i really need it because i drive around boosting 5psi with no problems.the A/F ratio says i am running rich under boost.i want to get some injecters now but not sure which one to get. importparts is having a GB on rc injectors but which is better for my setup? the 310 or 440? the fuel system is stock except the walbro intank i am getting soon.i do not plan on going over 10psi anytime soon.i would like to have 250-300hp one day(hopefully).i have changed to ngk plugs n magecor wires.any help is greatly appreciated.thanks

would there be harm in getting "larger" injectors then needed?

The "harm" is that the stock ECU only seems to be able to compensate for up to 310cc injectors; with any larger injectors, the car idles poorly or not at all and may not start. You can run larger injectors with electronic controls to fool the ECU into idling correctly, or use a complete standalone ECU like the Hondata system.

A good fuel pressure riser (Cartech) 370's and a V-AFC will be good for 300-350.

As I posted above for another person, I am running 450 Venom injectors on a stock ecu and controlled by a VAFC. I have no problems with the car. It also idles and starts fine.

Yeah, the newer VAFCs have up to a -50% correction on them; I'm also running 450s with the VAFC and have no problems.

So let me get this straight..if you go with larger injectors and have a stock ecu all you need is to have a V-AFC or something like it and the idle will be fine? Just bought the V-AFC and will be installing it before I put the Drag turbo kit(with only stock pump and supplied in-line pump) on in the spring and putting larger injectors in also ...so I should be fine with this..correct???

thanks

As of right now, I heard the largest injectors you can run on a stock ecu with an AFC or VAFC is 550 cc's. Correct me if Im wrong, but right now the 450cc's in my car is running great.
If I can go 550's, I will....can someone approve or correct me with this.

Thanks

i was under the impression that even 440s are too big for a stock ecu + vafc to handle... if you have the money i'd highly recommend you consider a standalone...

I know of several people including myself who are running 440 or 450cc injectors with the VAFC and have no trouble idling or starting... my gas mileage isn't down at ALL from using stock injectors so I'm pretty sure I'm not running too rich when I'm cruising.

I am sure even 550cc injectors are fine with a V-AFC for full throttle and idle. All it does is tell your car that it is getting almost no air, so it the inj. duty cycle is very low w/ the larger injectors.

The main issue is partial throttle boost... and that is why we have dbman trying to hook the v-afc TPS wire up to the map sensor. I actually thought of doing this when I had my V-AFC but I ditched it because I had no way of preventing the ECU of seeing boost. Never occured to me to use a second map sensor! I wish I still had my v-afc, I would try it out for all of you
