Re: how to check a bov (RACEPAK)
One nipple is goes to a vacuume source, like the compressor housing or IM, and the other is for a boost controller...
And to check if it's working.... I dunno, push on the piston and see if air comes out the nipples?

i dont have a boost controler on my setup, what should i do ?
whan i got it the lines where "tee'd" together to 1 line.... is it correct for a non-boost controlled application?

Wait... sorry... I was thinking wastegate, not blow off valve
Disregard what I said earlier! haha
Yeah, just use one and not the other, one is to vent air...
haha, sorry about that...

If there are 2 nipples for vac, one goes to the intake and one goes to a boost/vac source. The intake nipple is optional, but if youre having trouble getting the BOV to open under boost, then hook up the intake nipple.

this is the bov if you cant see the picture:

you mean like 2 vac sources right?
is it ok to "t" both nipples to 1 vac line ?
if i will use just one nipple, do i need to leave the other one open?
should i use the 2 lines at starters ?

Re: how to check a bov (RACEPAK)
Im not 100% sure on the HKS, you may want to contact them to find out which is which, but on the Greddy BOVs, the top nipple is for your regular vac source, the bottom nipple is a vent for the lower chamber of the valve. Basically, the bottom nipple will assist with the operation of the BOV.
You CAN just use the top nipple if you want, but if you experience surge, connect the bottom nipple to a pressure source.
Again, not sure specifically which is which on your HKS, but those are the reasons for 2 nipples. Post a pic and we will help you identify which nipple is which, or maybe someone with the BOV can chime in. I would have to assume its the brass nipple. You can always just hook it up, rev the car and see if it opens at all on one nipple, if it doesnt try the other. If they both dont, hook up both nipples as described above and repeat.

Good luck with that non-aspirated car, getting it to run
But you can't try it on a normally aspirated car, because theres no would-be compressor surge to cause the BOV to open, the intake is always in a vacuum.

maybe mine is the old style hks but mine only has one nipple. it is the brass one that is in the back. that one goes to the intake manifold. that should be all that you need to make it work. but no you can't try it on a NA car.

Re: how to check a bov
ok. just tested the bov on my friend turbo'd car. (seat ibiza 20vt)
i used a "t" on his fpr vac line on my bov's side nipple (brass)
the bov opend and let the air from my lungs to come out from the horn so i'm guess the bov is good.
