Default The Causes Of Compressor Surge?

ok ok I know a few ways compressor surge is caused but I need some clarifying on some others....
Here are a couple ways I know it can be caused..
Bad vaccum source to BOV
Too much preload on the BOV adjustment screw

And here are a few ways im unsure about...
Turbo too big pushing little boost
Positioning of BOV
New bearings in a turbo

well there u go these are things I have heard and some idk how they would make sense.... I have compressor surge and I have messed with just about everything I could think of and cant figure it out..... i knw the blitz can make a smal fluttering sound under low boost but it sounds a little different from surge.....

Could your bov be too strong for your boost level? What i mean is, with the weakest setting, the pressure in the charge pipe is still not enough to overcome the bov...

Maybe there is a kink in the vacuum line...

Compressor surge is cause by too much boost not enough airflow or when the TB slams shut and the air backs up to the compressor fan causing it to slow down or stall.

All of the things you mentioned can cause either types of surge, except for bearings, and the positioning of the BOV. A bad vacuum signal could cause the BOV to not open, too tight of a BOV could cause it to not open, and a turbo that is too big would put you in the surge limit of the turbo. Also having a BOV that is too small or restrictive can lead to surge.

Hrmm, well im runing a t3/t4 and I have a blitz BOV welded to a 2.5" IC pipe and im only pushing 5 and a half psi now that its not tuned ... but I have the vac line hooked to a GE vaccum manifold and i tried decreasing line size and what i have currently purchased and are using is a nice high quality black silicon line from napa... and i made it long enough to prevent kiniking at the manifold and even replaced the stock blittz vaccum elbow thing they got for a 1/8" npt fitting soo its more of a straight shot... but im soon going to be pushing highboost once tuned again. till then any ideas?
Cha cha cha cha scares me :

you should tune it, then mess with your BOV. that chaa chaa chaa might not be your compressor surge especially since you have to be in boost to make your BOV chirp. 111111!!!!Tuneit!!!11111 Oh and I have a t3/t4 you need more than 5psi to chirp your BOV, it takes at least 50% throttle to 6000rpm to make a noise(in 2nd).

ok idk if that helps but im getting it tuned again had to sell some stuff to get money...
I kinda knew u had to be in boost to get the bov to open ?.... wel thanks for the help ill see what happens after shes tuned!
