Default Hose clamp hell, need some help please

So, for the past 2 weeks, my buddy and I have been going through hell to get his custom turbo setup on his car. First, it was gonna go on a DOHC ZC, but the wastegate wouldn't clear the valve cover, then we swapped in a Z6, and it wouldn't start. So we put in another Z6 and it started.

So now we got everything all good and hooked up, all the hose clamps nice and tight, crank it up, take a cruise around the block, and lose boost. We pull back into his driveway and a hoseclamp came loose. They are just the basic "screw/8mm bolt" deal.

Nothing fancy. So we tighten it up, take another lap around the block, and again, a different hose clamp came loose. What should we be using so the hose clamps stop blowing off? He is putting out about 8psi. TIA.
-Steve

he has a few of those on now, and they seem to be holding up. I don't know where he got them from, but has anyone ever seen them at Home Depot or anywhere? I tried looking on their sites but couldn't find them. We need to have this up and consistently running, now!!!

Thanks for the quick replies.

Get the pipe ends beaded. Sometimes just using better clamps is not enough. Sometimes tightening the **** out of the clamps is not the answer either.
Proper beading and good couplers/clamps can hold more pressure than you will ever put in that D series.

Yes, we were.

and we don't know how to weld, so we can't bead them.

Most of the pipes are beaded. Im having no problems with those falling off. Just the ones that arent beaded that we used to make it work.

You could also find the T bolt clamps at Boating stores but they're like $10 bux each.

make sure you've cleaned any oil residue off the pipes and couplers. rough up the ends of the pipes too.

t clamps will work too.

Indeed it is a small world.

AMS can bead roll those pipes for you, I know they have a Bead roller. I do not know how much they charge though. If not, I'm ordering one next week for my own use......I can bead the pipes for you.
