Default Honeing block. help

Ok, this is my first engine build. Im honeing my engine and dont know whats the best tool to do so. My research is saying the best tool im seeing is this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-1-4...motiveQ5fTools

Anyways i am wondering that, the tool is for a 83mm engine and will that work for my b-series block? Im planning on keeping the STD Bore 81mm. Also i have a question on what sandpaper grit should i use? Any info would help. thanks.

you need a to check your piston to cylinder wall clearance and the roundness of your bore. i would go to a machine shop they will check it for you. if all that is with in specs then you should use a 300 to 400 grit hone. I think a 240 grit is to course.make sure you get a nice cross hatch

i have used the dingle type hones when re-ringing engines with good suscess...is still a good idea to purchase a good dial bore gauge to make sure the cylinders are not out of round before you decide to keep the motor stock bore or over bore it

Just had a issue with my rering. Please spec it out with a bore gauge before you hone. Can save you hours of work. But the size hone will work with around 300 grit.
