Hondata users, help! boost cut?
My first problem of running really rich and not revving passed 2k is solved. Turns out my originial MAP was a 2bar. Then I bought another map and it too was a 2bar. I just bought a 3 and all is well... except
At any rpm, if I hit 3psi the car stops responding to any throttle and rpms drop slowly until I release the throttle all the way. Then, after no throttle, the car behaves normally unless I 'boost'. Whats goin on?
hondata 2b, 450cc's.

Ok, ..
Did you get the right kind of injectors, and wire up the resistor box, if it was needed?
I don't have a hondata, yet, ... so I'm just trying to help out on the fly.
do you have any other VAFC or electronics hooked up to the wiring harness that may be interfering?
Is the Hondata a "boost" model, ... in which case the computer is just flipping out.
BTW -- you shouldn't need a 3 bar map unless you're boosing 10-12 psi or more.
Sorry, that's all I've got for you. Ed

Thanks crazy ed
Hondata 2B, dsm 450s so I used a resistor box.
I have a base program on the hondata that will allow me to run a max of 10psi.
Idles perfect and drives perfect up to 3psi.
I still have the MSD 6btm hooked up but I disconnected the vac hose and I removed the retard adjuster so it should act like an ignition only.
The AVC-R is hooked up as well.
I need the 3bar because I plan on 24+ psi someday.
I'm going to make an appt at AEBS sometime this week to have them troubleshoot and tune it. I'm going to run 15-18psi daily (all depending on what they can do with 91octane).

Cool on the big boost plans .. that's what I figured you must have planned.
I have an AVC-R at home and have read the directions, ... could be you need to take a closer look at how it's set up at the moment. As I remember, you can raise or lower the boost setting with the AVC-R, and if everything else is installed correctly....
One last thought ... make sure that the MSD isn't pulling any tricks.
Gotta do some work here at the Office, so good luck!

Did you have your Hondata program reconfigured to read a 3 bar MAP sensor?
Impressive sig, too!

There is a possibility we may have shipped you a stage 2 instead of a stage 2b. We will need to read the serial number from inside the blue box. Please contact us Monday so we can arrange if necessary to get you a replacment unit before your tuning.
