Default hondata and timing question.

When tuning a hondata is the timing on the dial set to stock and then the timing is changed on the computer itself? Or do people still retard the timing at the dial and then also tune in the timing on the computer?

I ask this because my hondata was tuned with the timing at stock on the dial, could I retard the timing a couple of degrees myself on the dial or would that **** the whole tune up?

I'm talking about the spark rotor assembly. You dial it back and forth so I simply called it a dial.

Its called a distributer, and its called retarding and advancing.

To answer your question, you leave the distribuetr at stock setting (16 deg BTDC) and change the igniton settings in the ecu (hondata) rom.

I had a lapse of vocabulary (distributor for some reason escaped me). We all have our stupid moments.

edit: thanks for answering.
