Hondata S300???
alright guys, i have been toying around with the idea of getting hondata s200 for my car but now i am thinking of getting the s300 unit. does anybody have any experience with this unit yet?? i have a 99 civic si that is turbocharged and according to hondata's website it comes with everything you need. i would like to hear some feedback if anyone has any. thanks!!

Re: Hondata S300??? (forcefed9974)
Actually from the experience I've had so far with the unit, its been pretty solid so far. I've noticed that it was much easier to use larger injectors than with the S200, due to its higher resolution. On the S200, though the injector pulse widths were tunable for most injectors, there were some sizes from other companies that no matter what was done, may have idled correctly, but just continually had "holes" in the partial throttle area. With the S300, these really seemed to be cleaned up, and done much more quickly. Not to mention, everything is now in REAL TIME in terms of saving data, as opposed to shutting the car down, waiting for the romulator to burn, then restarting. Now, there's no need to sweat extra cables and cords and auxilliary equipment like EPROM burners and such. You can simply load and go like many of the other standalones on the market. So far, from my somewhat limited experience, I give it 2 thumbs up.

Hondata S300:
Well there is no burning, ROM's or romulators or anything.
A USB plug. Every thing is in realtime and it's plug & play.
Everything in one package.
It's S200 made easy.

s300. One cable and you are ready to tune.

As of right now, only neptune dealers can tune neptune systems. The hondata s300 connects with a simple USB cable and you can alter anything till your hearts content. So, my answer is s300.

Re: (PrecisionH23a)
it is up to the tuner if they can use it fully, and make it work.
i tuned with MASE and he had it running WAY better than i had it running with the S200, the idle, drive, and WOT is SMOOTH, and there have been talks of it forgetting information, etc. etc. its all HEAR say, i havent had any problems but i cant speak for others.
just my .02

Re: (EK_GSR)
My buddy has s300 and on the dyno it would act very inconsistant....do 3 pulls and then the A/F would go way lean.....and the let the car sit at idle and it would go back perfect. I have herd my equal share of good and bad things about it but the bad things seem to be very devistationg to a motor......I went with Crome Pro so i could have all the datalogging and jazz on my laptop in my car.

It could be the tuner was not running the car consistantly with the same water temps or did not adjust the water temp correction table accordingly.
The hondata s300 has datalogging by the way.... and a lot more jazz.

wasnt the tuner, very reputable tuner by the way, because the car continues to do it while driving on the street....cruising down the highway and it screws up on him and then goes back normal....and I kno that s300 has datalogging, im not stupid but i was sayin that crome pro has EVERYTHING that s300 has to offer

Hey I see you are in Nazareth. We are in Easton and are a Hondata dealer. PM me and we can discuss pricing if you'd like.

let's not turn this into a crome vs hondata thread because anyone with half a clue knows crome pro does not have everything the s300 has. yes it might have everything the s200 has but not the s300. s300 has the ability to datalog without having a laptop connected. so u can go run a 1/4 and save the datalog in the internal memory to upload to a laptop later. and alot more jazz..

the water temp compensation doesnt work.......most people dont have widebands in the car all the time to notice when the car all of a sudden runs over a full point leaner....its obvious more then 1 person has seen this and hondata has choosen to ignore it
dont get me wrong i like the system and lately it has been a little better...but I really hate watching a wideband while racing...and the customer support is non existant

Why is it every ECU I look at and decide to purchase for my car.....I read some **** thread about why it sucks and can eventually cause damage to your motor? I am no rocket scientist but there has to be a way to make a bug free ECU for these cars. I origionally had an AEM and had an injector driver fail, then got it fixed just to hear from a reputable tuner why it sucks *****, then I decide on NepTune but I WILL NOT BUY something that I have to take my car hours away just to pay someone to fine tune it, and then have an new version come out and have an ECU that nobody will want to buy once I dont need it. Now I decided on Hondata S300 but I DO NOT want an ECU that could potentially lean my car out.....the last time that happened it cost me 5k and 6 months of downtime.
