:: hondata question :: s100b vs 2b :: any major differences?
what are the major differences between the 2 systems? i checked the hondata website (see below), and it looks like size, a/c cutoff, and vtec control. anything else major that is not dicussed? what about differences with features that are common between the two (like fuel/ignition maps)? thanks in advance.

The s100 system has the following features:
Fits inside the ECU. No external wiring.
Speed limiter removed (if applicable).
Tunable fuel and ignition tables.
Expanded fuel & ignition tables for boost.
Expanded rpm fuel & ignition tables.
A/C cutout.
VTEC control (non user adjustable).
Rev limiter (non user adjustable).
The base Stage 2 system has the following features:
Speed limiter removed (if applicable).
Tunable fuel and ignition tables (by a dealer or Stage 4 owner).
Expanded fuel & ignition tables for boost (if boost option is purchased).
Expanded rpm fuel & ignition tables (for the P72 only).
Adjustable rev limiter.

The stage 2b has vtec control also. Only thing different is basically what you pointed out and the newer systems can control up to 11k rpm while the old systems control up to 9k.
W/ s200 you have external wiring that goes to the "blue box" (that you don't get with s100). Blue box provides capability for more options; 3step rev, dataloging, etc..
You should not be considering the stage 2. Your decision is between the s100 and the s200. The old staged systems are really only used for OBD0 cars or cars with an automatic transmission.
s100 and s200 do the same thing, but you can get additional optioins added with the s200 like datalogging, 3-step, and g-sensor.

I thought for the money the s200 was worth it over the s100 for upgrade-ability down the road for only a mere $20 over the price of the s100 system...I might be wrong but if you bought a s100 system and then LATER decided you wanted datalogging or what not, you'd have to FIRST upgrade to s200 and THEN to datalogging...
