hondata question with base maps

Default hondata question with base maps

I might be getting this 3b today with a chipped p28, my question is will i be able to atleast get my car drivable on the base maps that were set for his car. he had a single cam turbo crx, i have a typer , do they program the base maps to each individual car and set up?

I've hear that the Hondata base maps are getting better, but from my experience I wouldnt' advise driving on the base map - it was way to rich and smoking and stumbling like crazy.

would I be better off getting the 4b and making my own maps? i gotta get it to the dyno .

If you dont have a good local tuner - yes, i would advise getting the 4B. I also strongly suggest that you do 90% of your tuning with a wideband o2 sensor on the street as opposed to the Dyno. Use the dyno to set your vtec crossover point and make mild adjustments to timing only.

im prob gonna grb the 4b then , cuz my tuner doesnt have the hondata stuff to tune? he never did hondata before, but i think the tuner needs the 4b to tune any other hondata right>?

Yeah, the tuner needs a 4b to tune, check out GruvyTune, I've heard from tons of people that he does amazing work and he's pretty cheap. He's gonna tune my 2b if I ever install it
