Default Hondata question

Hey guys,

I'm planning to purchase a Hondata s200 w/boost soon for my up coming turbo project (93 hatch/stock b16a)

Currently I'm running a P08 JDM 92-95 Civic D15z ECU .. chipped Mugen program, DOHC specs.

Question..

Will I encounter any problems hooking up the s200 with this ECU setup?

I'm thinking it should be fine, but I just wanted to make sure first.

Thanks guys,
-Van

there are no problems except that you will need to replace your mugen chipped ecu with a hondata modified one. if you are chipped already they all you have to do is burn a hondata chip to go in the socket. you will need tuning of course

Yup, Let's hope that the people who chipped your computer used a socket instead of just solder the chip right onto the board. It makes it harder if there isnt a socket there, then you will have to desolder the chip out and then resolder the socket back in.

Yeah, its socketed, so I won't have to resolder.

So I'll need a modified Hondata chip eh? About how much more does it cost to get along with a s200 unit?

Your also going have to solder in one more piece to the board, to interface with the blue box.

The chip is where the info is stored. So basically each time you need to change somethign in your ignition or fuel table, you will have to take that chip out, put it on the pocket programmer and burn it, after you have mad changes to it. Only the tuner should be burning the chips or making any major changes to the system.

Base maps are just that, base. If you get a base map, you will have to get it tuned later on. a base map is just a map that starts your car.

edit- Please check http://www.hondata.com for more info.

You could tune if you have either a 4b(if you have the stage 2/3) or if you have a full s200 system(for s200 models only). Also you will need a wide band o2 with meter and you would have to purchase the pocket programer with the emulator.
Oh yah and also a basic knowledge of how a motor works etc. If you don't know too much about a/f and how the motor works then I wouldn't tune it myself, if I were you.

vafc and hondata tuning are way different. I would recommend that you get it tuned by a tuner. Check http://www.hondata.com for prices.

A base map is just that. A stock or mildly modified stock map. the Hondata system has many base maps and many tunes to start with. Some of them are very good.

A properly tuned chip with a (good) turbo setup for example can get you 30 plus mpg and 400HP.
