Default Hondata Problem again

OK,
I finally figured out that my emulator and programmer work.
Problem is, when I go to run an emulation program and then start the car, the car starts ok but then some kind of signal goes back and forth between my laptop and emulator that cuts out the program and the car goes into limp mode.

I can see the hourglass cursur come up when I start my car (i even disconnected the serial connection for datalogging). However if I try a friends laptop this does not happen. I tried changing printer port configs (normal, ecp, bidirectional) but this does not help either.

Any ideas?

Oh man...having to troubleshoot a computer problem on top of a car problem...what a pain...My suggestion whould be to try re-installing the program. I would make the laptop a dedicated machine for the car...nothing else...just to ensure that there is no conflicts on the pc. This way you can elminate pc problems from the equation.

Hondas cut the power to the cigarette lighter on cranking. This will erase the emulators's memory if powered from there. The lighter must be wired to a switched 12V.

I have the power running direct from the battery (good suggestion though). I finally borrowed a friends computer (I'm going to sell mine---Anyone want a Dell Lattitude 333Mhz laptop in mint condition??).

I'm going to post a few words in a new thread regarding wideband road tuning a car with a Hondata now.

thanks!
