Hondata installation???
Ok I've just received my hondata s200 w/boost and 3 stage rev limit options. I put the cd in my computer and don't understand a damn thing. In the diagrams and instructions it just show how to install the old version, not the s200. Can anybody clerify what goes where? Also i received 3 little chips, where do they go? and should i be able to install it myself being knowledable of basic tools and electronics?
you have to be able to desolder and solder the chips onto the stock ECU. So if you can't solder or desolder you need to take it to someone who can. other than that aspect its plug and play.
The directions show where those 3 chips go so if you open the stock ECU you shuld see them with a little searching.

i just installed an s200 for my setup a couple days ago and the direction for the "old" version is exactly the same. the only difference is that you don't have to solder in the caps on r51 and r52. look in the manual and follow the directions under the us spec obd1 ecu. as for desoldering, it's good if you get a desoldering pen. it's a blue syringe looking thing and when you push a button, it sucks out the solder. about 5 bux from radio shack. as for myself, i had my friend hold the "desoldering pen" on one side while i melted the solder from behind. as soon as you see it melt, tell you friend to push the button and voila, you have a clean hole. it was much easier than i thought, thanx to rocket for giving me a thorough demonstration on one of his spare ecu's.

edit: if you already know how to solder/desolder, disregard what i'm about to say but this is how i did it. as for soldering, hold the soldering pen against the lead and put the solder right by it. when the solder melts, it'll run down the lead and solder itself right on covering up the gaps between the circuit and the lead. make sure the lead is properly heated or else the melted solder might run down the lead and harden up and fall off before making contact between circuits.
