Default Hondata and IACV

Has anyone else had a problem with an OBDII idle air control valve working with a Hondata or other OBDI chip?

Not a problem using hondata with an obd2 IACV. Is something wrong with your basemap, or did the tunerpossibily adjust it too much or too little?

Some information is needed to diagnose the problem better.

Upon installation of the Hondata, idle became very choppy/rev happy, averaging 1500rpms and a vacuum of only 10 mmHg (not positive about units on that). The IACV was leaking vacuum, once the tuner unplugged it the idle became smoother, although still high and choppy, and the vacuum went to 20 at idle. They tell me I need to get an OBDI IACV and rewire it, since the OBDI IACV is 2 wire and the OBDII IACV is three wire, or something along those lines. I am using the Hondata in a 98 CL, which has the F23a1, and is not a listed application, however except for this problem, seems to work fine. Thanks for any additional info.

If stock you had a 3 wire IACV you will need to convert it over to a 2 wire IACV to work with the OBDI ecu. I had the same issues, took me forever to figure it out, but its an easy fix. Pick up a 2 wire IACV, pigtail for one and run one wire different on the harness.

Hmmm, I am running a chipped obd1 ecu similiar to hondata or uberdata on my obd2 car and engine, its a 99 b18b Integra. I am recently having idling issues as well, but not all the time. Sometimes it can be hard to start the car and once started, the idle is lumpy and barely holds at about 250rpm before finally idling correctly at ~750rpm. Could this be my problem as well??

Smooth, I'm not a turbo pro yet, but reading about the IACV it could just be dirty. If you do a google search there are cleaning instructions. It could also just be your tune reacting to different temperature and humidity conditions.

The 00 Si is a listed application for Hondata. I guess they only list vehicles with no conversion issues because it obviously can be made to work in other vehicles.
