Anybody ever have a problem with connecting to the ECU for Romeditor/datalogging or Hondalogger????? It was working and now it says "connecting error". Not sure what could be wrong. The car runs and Pocket programmer works, I just can't connect.

thanks man, but it was working for about a week and now for some reason it doesn't.
I am doing a scandisk and defrag on the computer.............do COM ports or cables go bad........I mean can they? just real weird

 

COM Ports can go bad as well as Cables. I don't know how the editor hooks up to the laptop but I'm sure you've got that part right. You may have a cheaply made cable that one of the connections pulled off or something silly like that. Also check to see if you've somehow managed to change the com ports? I highly doubt that's your problem but you never know. Anyone been playing with the laptop? I hate when computers have hissy fits.

Cool, yeah, I figured they can, just seems like the cable is new from Hondata and the freakin thing has been working all week and then nothing.........now that I think about it, the other funny thing was the mouse stopped working at about the same time also, but it worked after I restarted the computer.......com port didn't............ so i am thinking it is the freakin laptop.........I'll check to see what happens tomorrow. maybe check it with another laptop if I can find one................hissy fit <--------------perfect term........... thanks dude!
