Hondas suck :(
So some of you that followed my build know that I was tuned this past saturday. Well I went to the first meet with the car last night. Leaving there to go back to the shop, Pulling in my oil light came on. I work 9-5 at a marketing firm so I cant look at it untill tonight. But im running 600whp, rotellat 15-40, same **** Ive ran for years, fluidampr pully and acl extra clearance bearings and a Endyne oil pump, I really hope my facrory sensor took a ****. Im going to hook my autometer oil press gauge up when I get off.

I feel its karma, Ive built and bought and traded so many different cars and setups, that now I decide to see one through and every avenue I am getting fucked. Ill know for sure whats going on tonight.
what are your bearing clearances do you have a oil pressure gauge to check oil pressure? Don't drive the car!
My buddy at the shop is the one who assembled my bottom end. I am running extra clearance acl race bearings. The dyno I had no problem all day running the car, took it out and beat on it for a bit and then when I was pulling back into the shop oil light came on. Ive got an autometer oil press gauge. Ill finish wiring in tonight. Im really hoping that its just my factory sensor taking a ****.

Re: Hondas suck :(
Fuidampr has worked without issue on many cars (including my last em1)
Pull the back cover of the pump and see what the gerotors look like
also, did the bottom end make any noise or was this an immediate shutdown after the light came on? Pull the pan and check for debris, also check the pickup for debris, if the pump ingested any metal you should see scoring marks and pock marks on the gears
I would be worried that there is bottom end damage and a new oil pump will only exacerbate the situation

My guess is the same as well... I am running a TODA oil pump gear on my car + Fluidampr (street), and has been great for the past 7-8 years. I remember the first week I had my freshly built Dart block back in late '03/04, I shattered my brand new stock ITR oil pump gear after a few 4th gear pulls. Luckily, I had an oil pressure gauge with warning, and caught it really early.

As would I, while the motor is down like that I would replace the main and rod bearings just to be sure none of them were damaged
it would really suck to get a new pump on and then immediately spin a bearing

The DART head will probably need a good cleaning of every fluid passage, the blocks were notorious for being filled with **** from the machining process

Would love a visit. Need to get moved first. Right now it's just a fluster-cluck collection of parts. Thankfully the rolling EJ shell's almost done. Gonna swing-by the shop after work today to get more photos to post (assuming no more rain this afternoon).
