Default Hondas new Frankenstein???

i was watching motorweek lastnight before "Hi-rev tuners" (which i change the channel when that comes on)

but something interesting came on the New honda Element there new suv thing....built on a updated CRV chassis....hmm so my mind starts to think....

then they show the engine...2.4L I-vtec k-series engine.....

hmmmmm

so whats going to be next for the 7th gen SI or the Rsx crowd

the Ele/Vtec

it has to be done....more Displacment, im not sure about the stroke and all that havent found any specs on it....


but alittle food for thought

it 's only putting out about 160 hp. Don't know any torque figures but i think they could have done better. But then again it's an economy SUV (oxymoron much?)

The engine is the same that is shared with the new honda CRV. The problem lies in the deck/rod length. The piston speed is going to be to great to actually consider using that bottom end. The 19mm difference in block/rod length makes the piston travel ALOT faster than the bottom end can handle. Revving it to 8,000rpm would be like revving the s2000 bottom end to 10,500 rpm piston speed wise. With a build engine anything is possible, but stock for stock its not a good idea.
