Default Homemade Turbo Kits

How many people actually make their own turbo kits? And what kind of success are you having with them? How hard can it be? I saw a webpage awhile back that outlined it step by step on an Integra. Anybody know that site? not homemadeturbo.com

If you think about it, most kits are mostly hoses and piping. You can buy the manifold, intercooler, and turbo - on your own and get pre-bent piping at summitracing.com. Seems like the kits are overpriced.

I agree. Most kits are overpriced.

take a look at my website and see if that opens your eyes at all. I did the same as a kit for $1200 on my D16a6. I am over my budget since I went stand-alone.

Mine is for a CRX, but you get the idea. A teg is just an obese CRX anyway.

The Kits are over priced.I build custom Turbo Kits for just about any car for alot cheaper than a kit would ever be. Right now Iam working on a 92 MR2 and I have a 2000 Grand Am V6 Iam putting a T3 on, and a Tercel Iam putting a T25 on.

Here is a pic of the MR2 manifold in progress. I had to build it log style to clear the oil filter, and dipstick.

It can be but with a piggy back fuel system in most cases if you lean out the fuel it will pass the pipe test, but this is not a 100% fact.

100% Homemade. I dynoed the car at Venom Performance (dyno day) and it made 177hp and 158tq @ 8psi. Thats untuned. Im waiting to pick up a vafc/safc and getting it tuned at Import Builders.
