HKS CT26 stage 3?
Heres the story: I friend of mine bought an MR2 turbo car and was told that it came with a stage 3 HKS turbo. I looked on the side only to realize that it says CT26. I know that CT26's come stock on an MR2, so what I am wondering is if my friend got ripped off or not.
Obviously this turbo is red, unlike the stock one, but I didn't know if someone could easily just paint a turbo or not. Heres the pics, let me know what you guys think as far as anything that could be used to describe this turbo.
Thanks a lot guys, and I apologize for the oversized pics.
P.S. is there any way to remove the turbo from the exhaust housing (or whatever is attacthed) in the pics?

Re: HKS CT26 stage 3? (wantboost)
lol, you guys are too funny. I hate to think that he got taken for a ride, but this **** does happen. I do know that he did replace the turbo since I got the old one too... does this still seem bad? Did he maybe just buy another stock ct26?
Thanks again

The turbo is not stock... It has a much larger compressor wheel.
I cannot verify if this is a"HKS Stage III" turbo, but I can tell you for sure that it is an upgraded unit and definitely not stock
You can remove the housings by undoing the metal V-band-looking clamp. Heat up the clamp though because it is a real pain to get it off.

What is the diameter inside of the compressor housing intake right before the compressor wheel? That should give us a clue as to what compressor it has.
