High Temperature Dip Stick???
I was looking at my stock dip stick today and I noticed that the hard plastic part at the top is starting to melt. I have the Drag gen 3 mani and was wondering if anyone has an suggestions (that would work with that mani) for an all metal or higher temp dipstick.
Also, when I'm driving is there even any reason for me to have a dip stick other than to check my oil levels?
Thanks in advance....sorry if this is really dumb.....

Re: (mike93eh)
just pull all of the stock rubber off and replace it with silicone tubing, or use some of the tool dip stuff.. or shrink tubing works

you could do that, since the manifold is cast and you dont have the risk of the metal fatiging like you do with the tubular manifolds, i think the heat wrap looks cleaner, but id never do it on a tubular mani

Re: (wantboost)
Mini heat shield? Get a small chunk of stainless and bend it around. Even mild steel should do something. If nothing else, do it till you find a better solution.

Re: High Temperature Dip Stick??? (TurboDB8)
apparently its bad with the Drag mani cos of the centre bolt that is located right near the dipstick, transferring heat and melting the plastic. I was told I could safely remove that bolt and that would prevent the problem - any views? I haven't done it yet...

Re: (Dunc)
Yep, just bend it for the drag manifold. When I switched to Inline Pro, it fits perfect.
I think I had to trim my rubber plug a bit that seals the tube to fit through the opening on the drag mani if I remember right.
