Doesnt more heat in the cc = more force pressing down on the pistion harder, providing more power? So if that is right (I just throwing this out there someone please educate me) then wont a higher CR yeild more heat when the combustion takes place because things are being compressed more, making more power in the end? or is this made up for on a lower CR engine by sheer amount of air in the cc? I suppose it depends on what octane your running, as well as timming...

EXACTLY! On a 10.5:1 car you have no room for error, period. 14 pounds of boost, you get a tank of 93 that the gas station owner decided to cheap out on and cut 60/40 with 87 octane, on a warm day you're FUCKED. It really doesn't provide any advantage in a street car, so why take the risk?</TD></TR></TABLE>

You should know by now that it doesn't matter what compression you are running to be completely f*cked over by a bad tank of gas.

If your engine is tuned for ie: 91 octane, it doesn't matter what compression you are running to be screwed over by bad gas. Even an engine running a low 7.5:1 CR at 25+ psi of boost would still be destroyed if it was meant to run 91 octane.

It's all in the tuning. If I can tune my 11.5:1 CR at 12 psi of boost on pump premium (92 oct), I can also tune it for 89 octane or even lower if I wanted to. It's about power vs compression vs octane. Find a balance in between.
