Tony1 and Jdogg as usual are on target. Chosing your compression ratio is a very simple process. You first need to chose what power you want to make. Then you need to chose what gas you plan on running. From there chose the highest compression possible to run the car safely and efficently. So if your goal is 300whp on 93 octane, you can run mid 10s compression and still find the holy grail of tunering, MBTT....Efficency is the most important thing in cars.

you arent gonna make that much on 91, never ever.

on 93.. with a very efficient turbo, ported plished head and an overall efficient motor, 400-450 is reasonable

ok... you guys got me... we dont have a dyno sheet, but we did have 900cc injectors maxed out at 28psi on a 2liter b16 at 9300 rpms... 55psi base pressure.. (smashed oil pans are NOT good for rod berings)

gota be somewhere close to 650hp. my h22 will be done in the next few months.. we'll see.

not 650hp... but i do have several customers with mid 8:1 compression with ~475 on pump daily boosted with around 15k miles on the motor... couple stock sleeves even.

but yeah.. pump gas.. the lower the better, pump gas sucks

can i achieve 475whp on pump gas? and then with racegas get well over 500whp? cause i am wanting a pretty raw car. i just need help on if its possible, cause i am goin to go with the best parts out there and build the motor top to bottom. nothing is going to be half assed.

the easiest way would be to use some wiseco shelf -18cc pistons, get a GOOD head (rlz of course ) a nice tubular manifold, big turbo, good intake manifold and you shouldnt have too much trouble with 400-450hp.

i have never tuned anything with 91 octane... we dont get pisswater on the east coast, but it should be doable
