Default High Compression Alternative

Motor: B16b

I was thinking about running a thicker head gasket to lower the comp down to around 10:1 or so. Keep reading about how thicker head gaskets mess up timing, are cam gears a must?

Am I better off runing OEM gasket and getting a good tune and hope it'll last for a while or is there some other sort of alternative?

usaully when u mill the head, or install a thicker gasket, u need a way to compensate for the cam gears being closer/further from the crank.

So most likely u will need cam gears.

I see, I didn't want to have to resort to using thicker gaskets and cam gears etc. 10.8 compression boost just doesn't sleep will in my head especially when IAT's start rising from hot summer days.

I'm also not too familiar with cam gears and cam timing, I never messed with any of those things.
