i have a b16 with 8.5:1 pistons and eagle rods, im shooting for 500ish hp. couple people say gsr cams and others say itr cams? whats the best cam to use??

either will get the job done in my opinion. How much money you have will be the biggest factor imo.

 

500whp on a b16 will require a 35r+
so stg 2 cams will be best to wake the motor up

 

pro1s...they will help improve the midrange torque on the b16...pro1 have stage 2 vtec lobes and better primary lobes than the old tuner 2s..

 

That compression is crap, things not a DSM, lol!

bigger cams depend entirely on your setup. but itr cams are universally the best oem.

that car is going to suck to drive out of boost.

 

(equal length manifold? victor x or similar intake? 35r or bigger turbo?- i would use pro1s.)

ITR

 

the idea of low compression on turbo cars is busted and will hurt you more than help you

most turbo cars are 10:1 now a days for a reason

 

With that low CR, you can bump up the boost for better CR. I would look to a stage 1 cam, but If it were me, I would get a new TB and port match it with a new IM to help with flow.
You dont want to over cam cuz with that low CR it will run like ****. Some simple stage 1 cams with boost will wake up the power.
