help w/ pssssssss sound

Default help w/ pssssssss sound

i just got a profec B boost controller and boost gauge hooked up, and now when my car is running, in the interior, i hear a slight psssssssssssss or hisssss that is constant and is very quiet...is this normal? what is it?

Sounds like a air leak. Does it do it at idle? If so listen around for it.

yeah, the sound is all the time: idle,reving, etc... but it doesn't get any louder...its just there..

leak in a vacume line.... is your vacume at 0? or very low? check your vacume connections behind the controller.

no, the boost gage is reading 7psi, which is where i want it set at....could it still be a vacuum leak?

uh... you set the b/c at 7psi but whats your vacume at idle at?

like sitting in the driveway... not touching the gas...

Im willing to bet it's a vacume leak on one of the connections to your boost gauge or boost controller that got pinched, cracked or is leaking....

motor is at 600-700 rpm and boost says -17 to -20 when idleing.

I still think you have a vacume leak.... if you didnt hear it before the boost controller install then it has to be the culprit... but -17 to -20 sounds about right if your at sea level...
