Help w/ apex egt probe install
I didnt get any directions w/ my gauge. How do i install the probe? My downpipe has a pre-drilled and threaded hole where it connects ot the turbo. The hole points to the hole above the blades. The probe is too long to go entirely into the turbo, can I trim it? And what is the order of the pieces for the install? Theres the piece that threads into the dp, a little nipple thing w/ a hole in the middle, and and a threaded cap.
Thanks
Thanks
Put the threaded cap on the probe, then put the "nipple thing" on the probe, then thread the cap onto the part that threads into the downpipe. I don't know about cutting the probe....I wouldn't.
Thanks for the reply. Should all of the probe be inside the downpipe/turbo, or can an inch or so stick out? Otherwise, i have to cut it.
Place the probe halfway into the downpipe to where it is in the middle of the passage. The rest of the probe can stick out. Whatever you do, do not cut it! Also, you can bend the probe if you want like this:
hey trustsi, tell me how the gauge is after u get it working. it comes with the egt probe right? i'm gonna get one soon but those damn apexi gauges cost alot.
Thanks for the help, thats exactly what I needed to know. Yes the gauge comes w/ the probe, i didnt know and i ordered one (70 bucks!). Its cool tho cuz lightning is letting me return it. The craftsmanship and quality is beautiful, i have the apex el tach and i love it so im sure ill be happy w/ my boost and egt. My turbo will be done march first and then im driving to payne tech for tuning.
