Default HELP: Overheating problem

Ok, I just noticed that when my engine gets hot, the point where the
top radiator hose joins with the radiator starts leaking/boiling out.

I also notice that the coolant overflow tank hasn't moved.

I'm under the impression, that when the coolant begins to boil, it's supposed to
dump into the overflow tank.

So my prognosis is that my hose is old and needs to be replaced (and/or clamp).

Am I right?

Also, what's an acceptible temperature (maximum) for coolant?

Tighten clamp if possible or
replace hose, clamp and maybe thermostat to be safe. 180 degrees normal.
Careful not to over tighten and break plastic radiator

I had the same problem, but soon afterwards when the motor got hot i heard a popping sound and coolant began to bubble out from the headgasket and it continued to overheat. Funny thing was this was on a 9:1 CR motor with no boost. Can't figure out what went wront?

Replace your radiator cap! Sounds like it's not allowing pressure to vent into the expansion reservoir so it has to find another way out. You should probably replace your main hoses and clamps too, but the radiator cap is one of the most common failures in a cooling system.

Get a new upper hose, clamp, and radiator cap.
