Default Help me build a D15B Turbo setup.

I have a 1993 Honda Del Sol with a D15B VTEC motor in the car. I just picked up a T3/T4 Turbonetics turbo from a friend and I want to prep the motor before throwing it on. I don't want to go cheap because I want the car to be reliable. I want to go forged internals. Fully build the motor to hold power while being reliable. I want to know what I have to get to get the ball rolling. Pistons, Rods, Valves, EVERYTHING. What do you think is the best setup, best brands, best everything essentially? It's my first build and I'm not trying to **** up.

Search "D15 limits" or things similar in Google or here on the forums and you'll find a lot of results on the weak points of the D series engines. Pistons, Rods, Bearings, and all bolts/studs will need to be upgraded. Even the sleeves will be a factor for anything over about 250WHP on a D. The D15 especially has a small aftermarket.

What is your WHP goal? What will you be using the car for? I'd personally try to push you in the direction of taking the money you would spend on this D15 and investing in a B18, B16, or even a D16 instead.

We can't walk through this for you step-by-step . There are plenty of build articles and threads here for the last 16 years on here. Whether it's a D15B (which will be the most difficult to find aftermarket parts for due to the unique stroke & wrist pin location of the JDM D15) or a B-series engine, the procedural steps are the same. Start reading, researching, look at your purpose for use, etc. Then create a thread with specific questions of how something goes where. Photos of what you have are a plus.

x2 Just get a bseries, youl probably save money in the long run depending on power goals, if nothing else go D16 at minimum

I had a D15B turbo boosted with 18 PSI using an AEM Methanol Kit for daily drive, 260WHP.

Not ported head, no aftermarket Camshaft, just springs and retainer to rev to 9k.

D16 Eagle Rods
VX P07 Oem Pistons

12.25 at 1/4 of mile with a daily drive CRX.

Keep your D15B in the car while you source a D16Z6/A6 block/crank on the side to build...
