Default help with internal wg actuator

I'm a noob when it comes to Honda turbo setups. Have plenty of DSM and Scoob experience. So I bought this Greddy 18G kit from a local and the turbo/manifold/intercooler are in great shape and should work well with my setup.

The wg actuator though is bad. I'm in the process of inspecting and testing everything before I put it on the car. Now I know this setup is old(er) school and Greddy doesn't sell parts anymore. Does anyone know how/where/what to buy that will work? I want to stay around 6-7 psi and this is going on a B18CR.

This TurboSmart looks like my best bet.

No. you want to go for the Universal Turbosmart Actuator, for full adjustment.

ok thanks. I was kinda hoping you'd chime in as I've searched the whole Greddy 18g topic and you seem to know whats what. Thanks.

So this then? I was looking at the Subaru one because of the bent rod looked fairly similar...

Yes. That's the one. But as stated, converting to EWG is a better approach with the wastegate flapper being as it is. There are divorced downpipe flanges for EWG that give the cleanest look. I understand folks like to "fabricate" flanges and elbows on internally gated cast manifolds, but I find divorced systems do quite well, as the skill of the welder and material used is paramont.

Thanks, yeah I've read both those threads before I posted this one.

I'm fairly certain I'd like to stick with a low boost setup. I road race a ton with another Honda so this is sorta a budget low boost setup (Right I know lol). It's going on my ITR powered Civic and I just want to track day it and instruct. Really 5-7 psi is all I could see pushing with this setup.

The downpipe was already converted to a 3inch and I'll neck it down to 2.5. I'm running a decent size intercooler so should be safe.

I would like to run a fancy EWG but fab skills are limited here locally in Montana and I don't have the budget for a $300 EWG plus fab

I'll order the IWG setup and fab up a bracket. Thanks Shodan!!

If you want to run such low boost you have to remember how small that internal waste gate hole is .

Youre going to need to divert a lot of exhaust around that turbine

good point but wasn't the kit origionally designed to so?

I read your link from around page 21 on up where you had modified the greddy manifold.

If I do go that route, how did you make the 1.5inch hole? Would a nice mig w/.030 work to weld to the cast? How far/where did your dump pipe go? Did you have issues with where the Ewg was mounted?

Again, thanks for the help guys.
