I recently installed the greddy turbo kit on my gsr powered civic. I'm experiencing some slight detonation around 5k rpms. I also get a check engine light in higher rpm ranges, putting the ecu in limp mode. I haven't checked the code yet. I was thinking the car may be leaning out as I was still running a civic fuel pump. I switched the pump out for a gsr one and am still experiencing problems. I'm using ngk plugs gapped to .032. My timing is retarted 2 degrees, and fuel management is covered by the greddy box and rc 310's. I didn't notice any detonation before the addition of my 3" exhaust. Still running stock fuel pressure into an aem rail.... Any advice will be helpful

As soon as I put the exhaust on I noticed that boost would shoot to the set 8lbs then creep up from there until I let off the gas. I put a silencer in the exhaust which slowed down the flow a lot and since then I haven't had any problems with the boost, It's held pretty steady at 8 lbs
Wassup bro...I had the same problem...and believe it or not...you need a bigger fuel regulator....you are not getting enough gas at the high rpm...my problem was that when i boosted with the stock fuel pressure my check engine light would come on right at 4800k right when my vtec kicked in....then the ecu tripped and would not allow me to rev any higher than 3k rpms until i recent it...so I looked at my air/fuel ratio gauge and noticed that as the rpm climbed i was going from rich very fast into lean....and then i would get the check engine light and ecu trip...got the regulator....i never even see lean anymore...i get stoich only if i redline two long...other than that i run rich which is what you want with the turbo setup...after that i have not ran into any problems at allll....remember that when you get the fuel pressure regulator u need to reset the ecu a certain way for it to learn the new fuel settings...if you don't know how let me know and I will explain...hope this helps...let us know how it went

Nice, I was curious if that would have much effect. I ordered an aem fuel pressure regulator and a b&m gauge they should be here any day. What do you have your fuel pressure set at? thanks for the feedback

Alright AEM fpr is on and set at 50psi at wide open throttle and I'm still detonating and I threw a code 20 which is "Electrical Load Detector defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor" Any feedback would be helpful, I thought the greddy kit was supposed to be complete and reliable...wtf

My stock ecu is a p28, so it won't work with the gsr motor, my setup is in a 94 civic, I got a wiring diagram from greddy for the box to work with my obd1 ecu.....?
Do you have the 18G kit? Those come with 320cc injectors, so your injectors are a little smaller. But I'm not sure how much it matters that your injectors are 10cc's smaller. Check your CEL and boost gauge. That should give you more clues.

I also tried hondata stage 2 w/boost with what has been a good base map for others, and I got the same check engine light and more detonation.... I only ran hondata for about 20 minutes because of the way it ran. I also consulted the helms manual which told me how to troubleshoot code 20....I'm also thinking it may be a bad map sensor...?
