Was just wondering whether anyone else has had a similar problem to what I had when installing. The manual was in Japanese, but I found an older Defi installation manual in English, and wiring seemed the same as the new one (same amount of wires and same colours) so I used that. It worked, but I find that if I don't turn my headlights on, the face of the meter doesn't illuminate. In order to fix this, I connected the wire which illuminates the face to the ACC. Now I can see the face during the day and night, but the dimmer control (apparently there is one, controlled by the Control Unit) doesn't work anymore since its connected directly, and so the meter is extremely bright at night (becomes a distraction too.. for me and other people in other cars wondering what that really bright meter is that's sitting on my steering wheel column)
