your car is basically a stock d16 when not in boost, what you need to do is pressure test the cooling system...or that should have been the first thing you did.

if you have a good radiator, and pushing air(at the recommended temp), a good thermostat(run one please), and no leaks. then your car should not overheat unless you have air in system or warped/leaky head but that you would know from oil/water mixing

now go and check all those things and report back.

now if were talking boost then its probably just a **** tune. and wtf is 235hp at 17psi, is this vitara motor with eagles. how much timing are you running
