Default Help with b18c1 build.

Hello again, I am going to be building a b18c1 for fi. If there is anyone that would be kind enough to post a link to there b18 fi build that I would be able to find a starting point to base my build off of I would greatly appreciate it. I am very interested in beginning to build motors, but am having a hard time finding where I should get started so that I can plant my feet somewhere and get the ball rolling. Any help would be appreciated at all. If you could let me know around what horsepower your build is getting I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all very much.

Dog its pretty simple...

Just read... its hard for me to believe you got 600 posts and dont know where to start... LOL

I swear laziness ownz people sometimes... Instead of just looking lazy they look dumb...

Theres a post in this forum thats like 30 pages of nothing but GSR builds... Take sometime and scroll thru and look for it... Its prolly in the first 3-5 pages at WORST cuz people comment in it frequently...

Good luck with that buddy...

select the pistons that you want (9 or 9.5:1 compression, most FI use 9 just to be on the safe side) then take it to the machine shop with the pistons. eagle rods never hurt to get, but you really dont need them unless you're going past 300HP
ARP head studs should be used on all FI apps
main studs are up to you, i've heard arguments both ways about them
no need to sleeve unless your going past 500hp
head work inst necessary on FI but it doesnt hurt to have some done
heard arguments both ways aout blok guards...thats your decision
and there you go, thats your motor.
choose aftermarket parts as you like and do a bit of research on different turbo systems to decide which is for you.

does the head have to be port and polished, and more importantly do I need a machine shop to install the valvetrain? and does it have to be installed when the head is shaved and the block is decked? Is that even necessary with a turbo app?

port and polish will always increase air flow as long as its down properly, its not as big a deal on FI as it is on NA though
