Default headwork on turbo B18c5

whats up FI forum, im on my homies screen name, im really b18cR-nVA and i dont have alot of time to post, since im here in Kuwait, but was wondering, what type of headwork are you guys running on your turbo cars. i have a built GSR motor with a stock ITR head with victorX intake manifold.

Would getting any type of headwork done be worth the money as far as HP gain?
IF you where are you guys getting the headwork done?
Should i keep the stock ITR cams or look into getting some "turbo cams"?
What type of cams gears should i get to replace the stock ones?

sorry I dont know the answer to the headwork part.

But gsr cams are supposed to be the best for turbo b series motors.....so I heard many times on this board. Cam gears are really all the same. The AEM are the ones to stay away from since they are prone to slip with only 3 bolts. I have the unorthodox cam gears and im satisfied with them. Look into the golden eagle cam gears also.

What setup are you running(internal wise, compression and turbo, fuel setup) and dyno numbers? Just curious.

The only reason the GSR cams are better than ITR cams is because they have less overlap. If you are getting cam gears then you can dial out the overlap. Lift and duration are not as important with forced induction, but they still make some difference. I have a ITR with jrsc. The bump into vtec is not as noticible as before the supercharger, but there is still some difference. This has to be because of the increased lift/duration. So if you are getting the cam gears then keep the ITR cams.

I have the same basic setup as you with a smaller turbo, but i went ahead and port and polished the head. Even though the type-r head comes port and polished from the factory I figured an aftermarket job wouldnt hurt. I saw some minimal gains.
